The Dane County Regional Airport has a current vacancy for a full time (1.0 FTE) Director of Business Development.
The eligible list created from this posting will be used for future Director of Business Development vacancies within the next six (6) months.

Under general supervision of the Deputy Airport Director the Director of Business Development is responsible for the management and coordination of all property lease and business development functions for the Dane Country Regional Airport (DCRA). Duties include planning and negotiating operating and lease agreements; coordinating short-, medium-, and long-range development; and maximizing non-aeronautical revenue. Serves as the Airport liaison to business, municipal and economic development entities.
Oversees compliance with lease agreements, supports strategic planning, and acts as a key advisor to the Executive Director. Ensures compliance with state and federal laws related to property development and tenant agreements.
This position is the primary contact for negotiating all airline, rental car, concession and other operating agreements for the Dane County Regional Airport (MSN). Participates in lease negotiations as a member of the Management negotiating team. Coordinates and composes necessary Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Qualifications (RFQs), and Request for Bids (RFBs). Monitors, enforces and tracks all lease agreements, terms and compliance.
Analyzes and proposes lease policies and rate adjustments and ensures timely communication with lessees. Responsible for all inquiries regarding renewals, assessments, construction and land use limitations. Serves as a liaison to the business community to develop public-private partnerships aligned with airport growth to maximize revenue from DCRA-owned buildings and properties. Collaborates with economic development entities and the private sector to attract new tenants and services.
Assists in development of the annual and 20-year Airport Capital Improvement Program to ensure project development plans align with long-range strategic and facility goals. Must maintain positive working relationships with municipal leaders, developers, and economic agencies. Represents MSN in economic development and community groups to communicate airport development initiatives to the public and media as needed. Manages the Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) program.
Coordinates with the Finance and Administration Department for grant tracking, compliance and alignment with lease developments.
Combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, in business administration, marketing, international commerce, aviation management or related field. Plus, five (5) years of demonstrated progressive experience in public or private economic or business development.
