Position will work on projects of varying duration and capital expenditure initiatives that will serve to improve existing equipment, products, and processes. Investigates and recommends new manufacturing process equipment to aid production. Works collaboratively with manufacturing, maintenance, and manufacturing engineering to achieve assigned goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB

ACTIVITIES:

Evaluate existing processes and equipment to improve worker safety, product quality, yields, and increased throughput.

Specify and procure new capital equipment for manufacturing processes. Work with manufacturing engineering and maintenance to effectively transition equipment from development and project build stage to full production stage.

Design and develop new manufacturing equipment and processes to meet the needs of new product requirements.

Support manufacturing and maintenance teams by helping to solve production issues and problems as they arise on the plant floor.

Design, specify, and procure tooling as required for product development projects.

Collaborate with product design engineering department to make incremental improvements to existing products.

Work with maintenance project coordinator to facilitate proper equipment preventative maintenance.

Work with the manufacturing team to make sure proper procedures and instructions are followed.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree
EXPERIENCE:

6+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven project management experience from initial planning and scope definition through delivery. Familiarity with industrial facility construction is a plus. Experience working on and leading capital expenditures projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Solid Works, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and work independently. Open-minded and team-oriented personality with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Must be able to work with minimum supervision, meet time sensitive deadlines, keep accurate records, and work in a collaborative environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
