Meals on Wheels Afternoon Assistant
Goodman Community Center invites two types of volunteers to support our Meals on Wheels program, preparing and packaging over 300 meals daily for older adults.
Description of the roleMeals on Wheels program prepares and packages meals for nearly 300 older adults per day. Mornings involve dishing and sealing hot meals and afternoons involve packing cold lunch bags that are delivered the following day.
Volunteer Types- Regular/Weekly Volunteer: Commit to a single shift each week on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 12‑3 pm.
- Substitute Volunteer: Provide coverage for regular volunteers as needed on either morning or afternoon shifts.
- Flexible schedule.
- Comfortable working with food and following safety protocols.
- Good teamwork skills in a small, but strong team.
- Reliability and punctuality.
The Goodman Community Center serves over 30,000 people annually, offering a wide range of programs and services. Our staff continually refine operations using data and measurement tools to improve outcomes for participants.
