Bring your dialysis expertise to UW Health as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or a RN-Nurse Specialist !! This is a 100% FTE salaried position scheduled to typically work weekdays, day shift hours, however some off hours or weekends may be required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will primarily work at University Hospital with occasional travel in the Madison, WI area to the facilities that our hemodialysis team supports.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:
- Provide clinical expertise and support to hemodialysis nursing staff within the UW Health organization who care for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease who are needing intermittent and/or continuous dialysis with the use of different treatment modalities to patients of all ages, neonatal to geriatric.
- Areas of inpatient support include the 9-bed dialysis unit located within University Hospital in Madison, WI.
- Support is also provided to the dialysis nurses who travel within the Madison area to provide inpatient dialysis services at University Hospital, American Family Children’s Hospital, East Madison Hospital, Meriter Hospital and the local VA Hospital.
- Improve patient outcomes and healthcare quality by providing expert clinical guidance, education, and implementing evidence-based practices .
- Act as a clinical expert for specific clinical populations; three years of dialysis nursing experience including CRRT is highly preferred. Leadership experience is also highly preferred.
Pay:
- Pay range is based on a full-time (100%) position.
- Salary is prorated based on FTE.
- Pay range listed is based on both job title pay ranges combined.

Qualifications
* Please note there are two job titles with different qualifications listed below.
- RN-Nurse Specialist:
Bachelor of Science -- Nursing (BSN) Required
Must obtain Master's degree in Nursing or doctoral degree (DNP) in relevant specialty within five (5) years of start date in the Nurse Specialist position Required
- Clinical Nurse Specialist:
Master's Degree or doctoral degree in Nursing Required
Master's Degree or doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) with CNS role focus Preferred
Work Experience
- RN-Nurse Specialist:
3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required
Previous experience as a nurse specialist and/or nurse working in an expanded role Preferred
Experience in an academic medical center Preferred
- Clinical Nurse Specialist:
2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required
3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Preferred
Previous experience as a clinical nurse specialist Preferred
Experience in an academic medical center Preferred
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Wisconsin or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
- Current CPR/BLS certification Required
- CNS certification Preferred
- Certification in specialty area of practice Preferred
