Job Description
The Lactation Consultant will provide essential breastfeeding and breast milk pumping guidance and education to participants involved in lactation clinical trials in Clinical Pharmacology.
Responsibilities- Provide lactation support and education to study participants in accordance with research protocols.
- Assist with recruitment, screening, and enrollment of participants for lactation-related studies.
- Collect and document clinical data, including breast milk samples and participant-reported outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in source documents.
- Collaborate with investigators, research coordinators, and clinical teams to ensure protocol adherence.
- Participate in the development and refinement of study protocols and educational materials.
- Ensure compliance with FDA/GCP/ICH regulations.
- Maintain a safe working environment and practices.
- Serve as an educational resource and instructor/trainer for staff.
- Certified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
- Possess current licensure as an IBCLC.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related field.
- RN or advanced degree preferred.
The position is based in a Phase I Healthy Volunteers Clinic located in Madison, WI. The Lactation Consultant will begin in January, receive training on the research protocol, and will be required to be on-site at the start of the study. The role involves being on-site for 1-2 hours each time a group checks in, addressing any concerns and available for any issues during or after the study.
The planned check-in dates are 13 Jan 2026, 04 Feb 2026, 25 Feb 2026, 18 Mar 2026, and 15 Apr 2026.
This is a Contract position based out of Madison, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
