Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Madison, WI This position involves providing urgent and emergent care in a high-acuity emergency department designated as a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Comprehensive Cardiac Center. The role requires delivering advanced clinical care for adult and pediatric patients, supporting a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details- Required Qualifications:
Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license; at least 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years; certifications in BLS, PALS, ACLS (American Heart Association only), TNCC;
Epic experience; current Modified Time assignment scheduled for 11/9/2026 to 02/08/2027; schedule includes night shifts (12-hour shifts), with a minimum of 36 hours per week; experience with adult and pediatric high-acuity patient care, including trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies. - Preferred Qualifications:
Previous charge nurse experience; trauma level I experience; inpatient RN travel experience in acute care settings; familiarity with telemetry interpretation; ability to pass strict telemetry testing with adult and pediatric exams. - Additional Information:
The position involves working night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM or 3:00 PM 3:30 AM), including weekends and holidays, with a required 20-hour orientation. Candidates must be willing to float as needed; local candidates are not accepted, with a 50-mile rule from the facility. The department handles approximately 200 patient visits daily with a 67-bed area, supporting various specialties including neuro, trauma, cardiac, and burn care, supported by a full team of specialists and support services.
The role necessitates completion of a telemetry exam with two attempts, including adult and pediatric assessments, prior to start.
