American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring prior CVICU and Level I Trauma experience plus Next Stage CVVH machine proficiency.

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU of a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, , with every other weekend rotation
• Some holiday coverage required, no on-call responsibilities
• 4x12 scheduling or blocked weekends available if preferred
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in CVICU specialty required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• CVICU experience required
• Experience and knowledge of the Next Stage CVVH machine required
• Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required, within past 12 months preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict scoring criteria prior to starting

• Provide critical care nursing to post cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, and cardiovascular intervention patients
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and chest tubes as needed
• Care for ventilated patients including BiPAP/CPAP management and ABG interpretation
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management expected
• Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and managing dysrhythmias
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, locals not accepted
• First-time travelers not accepted for this role
