Job SummaryThe Paulun Lab is currently hiring a full-time research specialist to help conduct research on human perception of materials and intuitive physics. This is an excellent position for a recent college graduate with a strong technical background and a serious interest in cognitive science/neuroscience to explore the field as a possible steppingstone to graduate school. We offer a collaborative and international research environment, access to research dedicated MRI, and computational resources.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collect data and monitor test results.
- Review, analyze, and interpret data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences.
- Perform literature reviews and write reports.
- Participate in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials.
- Operate, clean, and maintain organization of research equipment and research area. Track inventory levels and place replenishment orders.
- Provide operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and/or student workers.
- Minimum of two years of relevant full-time or part-time experience.
- Strong math, statistics, and computer skills and programming experience (e.g., MATLAB, Python, shell scripting).
- Evidence of Mac, Windows, and Linux troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Machine Learning (e.g., Tensor Flow or PyTorch).
- Research experience in cognitive neuroscience and experience conducting and/or analyzing fMRI experiments.
- Ability to multitask and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree required. Preferred degrees and specialization areas:
Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Engineering, Psychology, Physics, or Math.
The typical starting salary for this position is $44,543 - $63,697 depending on qualifications and experience. Employees can expect benefits such as generous vacation, holidays, paid time off, competitive insurance and saving accounts, and retirement benefits.
