ORISE InformationThis program, administered by ORAU through its contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to manage the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE), was established through an interagency agreement between DOE and ARS. Participants do not become employees of USDA, ARS, DOE or the program administrator, and there are no employment‑related benefits. Proof of health insurance is required for participation in this program.

Research ProjectThe participant will be actively involved in the research process through collecting biological samples on the dairy farm and perform analysis of biological or feed samples in the laboratory as a part of existing dairy cattle nutrition research studies that are ongoing at the Dairy Cattle Research Center in Madison, WI.
Learning ObjectivesThe participant will learn relevant analytical techniques applicable for interpretation of biological, nutrition, microbiological, or agronomic dairy cattle research. The participant will learn time, sample, and data management procedures to support the analyses for these studies.
