National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP)
Job OverviewThe Case Aide works closely with the Case Manager and Lead Case Manager to support the reunification program. The aide assists with day‑to‑day tasks to ensure timely case management services for youth.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure youth are properly enrolled in the internal intake system.
- Complete and secure inventory of personal belongings/valuables of youth.
- File and upload DHS and ORR placement documents to the UAC portal software.
- Provide two weekly telephonic contacts with family of origin, primary caregiver, and/or sponsor.
- Facilitate incoming calls to youth with the appropriate family members and other approved caregivers.
- Assist with coordination of legal service providers’ “Know Your Rights” presentations.
- Facilitate attorney‑to‑client contact as requested.
- Drive clients to program services, including transportation to court appointments, attorney visits, consulate interviews, or other appointments, and transport youth within the US if reunified.
- Create client intake case files with necessary documents.
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files on ETO or UAC portal software.
- Compile electronic and physical files for ORR or State Licensing representatives upon request.
- Assist in creating discharge packets and providing exit orientation to clients during program discharge.
- Conduct follow‑up service phone calls 30 days after youth’s reunification and program discharge.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for program staff transporting youth for reunification or transfer purposes.
- Coordinate fingerprint services for family reunification at designated digital sites.
- Work flexibly, organized and deadline‑driven, juggling multiple priorities.
- Listen and transcribe verbal communication accurately into clear written form.
- Serve a diverse group of clients, including refugees or other minority families.
- Work cross‑functionally, delivering high‑quality work under pressure.
- Work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
- Operate technology comfortably and learn new software applications quickly.
- Use computers, laptops, smartphones, social media, and web chat efficiently.
- High School Diploma; BA or BS Degree preferred.
- Four years of professional experience preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required.
- Results‑oriented with strategic thinking and adaptability to changing environments.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, insurance, and good driving record.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability.
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones, tablets, printers, fax machines, and photocopiers, and software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
