A Madison, WI client is seeking a Java Developer for a project starting on 1/26/15 and ending on 6/30/15.

The Java Developer will design, develop, and implement web-based Java applications to support business requirements, following approved life cycle methodologies and creating design documents. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and 4-6 years of experience, with proficiency in object-oriented design, problem-solving, and the Java programming language.

The successful candidate will:

• Design, develop, and implement web-based Java applications
• Follow approved life cycle methodologies and create design documents
• Perform program coding and testing
• Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation

• Proficiency in object-oriented design and functional programming
• Experience defining and consuming XML
• Proficiency in problem-solving and complexity analysis
• Proficiency in the Java programming language
• Experience with the Spring framework and application middleware such as Tomcat
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and the full software development life cycle
• Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence software engineers' best practices
