We’re recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor with solid new build housing experience to take commercial lead on a major development in Maesteg. This is a long‑term project offering stability, autonomy, and the chance to play a key role in delivering high‑quality homes across the region.

The Role
You’ll lead commercial management for a live new build social housing project, working closely with the site and commercial team to keep costs under control, strengthen supplier relationships and maximise project profitability.

Key Responsibilities
 
* Manage commercial performance for a live new build housing development
 
* Prepare budgets, forecasts, CVRs and monthly valuations
 
* Lead procurement, subcontractor enquiries and contract negotiation
 
* Assess and certify subcontractor payments and variations
 
* Manage change control, risks and opportunities
 
* Produce monthly commercial reports for senior management
 
* Ensure project delivery meets contractual, financial and quality expectations
 
* Support site teams with commercial advice, cost reviews and progress updates
 
* Maintain strong relationships with supply chain partners
About You
 
* Experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
 
* Must have experience in new build housing (ideally social housing)
 
* Strong commercial and analytical skills
 
* Confident in procurement, cost reporting, valuations and forecasting
 
* Able to work independently on a live residential site
 
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
 
* Full UK driving licence
Permanent Option:
 * £70,000 annual salary
