Position

Heritage Assistant (Temporary) at Awen Cultural Trust – part‑time, 18.5 hours per week.

Location:

Neuadd y Dref Maesteg (Maesteg Town Hall).
Salary: £12,598 per annum.
Statutory period: temporary until 21 January 2026.
Reporting to the Heritage Development Manager.

• Digitise historic documents for the Ogwr Unlocked project.
• Assist with planning and running Ogwr History Month events.
• Collaborate with the Ogwr Heritage Network and other partners.
• Maintain and update digital records and the archive.
• Support other heritage‑related tasks as required.

• Interest and enthusiasm for local and family history.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused attitude.
• Good time‑management and organisational skills.
• Academic or practical experience in heritage, archives or a related field is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
