Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher of Science to join a welcoming secondary school in Maesteg on a full-time basis from April 2026. This opportunity is open to both fully qualified teachers (FQT) and newly qualified teachers (NQT/ECT), and applicants may specialise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
The need for this role has come about due to an unexpected need from after the Easter holidays. This gives ample time for Teaching Personnel’s registration and vetting process to be complete; should the process be completed sooner, successful candidates would be available for work in any of our client schools.
The Role
Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
Inspire students to develop curiosity and confidence in scientific thinking.
Contribute to departmental planning, assessment, and school life.
Maintain high standards of classroom management and student achievement.
The Ideal Candidate
Holds QTS (or is due to achieve QTS by April 2026).
Has a degree in a Science-related subject.
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge in at least one science discipline.
Is enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to student progress.
NQTs/ECTs are encouraged to apply — support and mentoring will be available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
