Health and Safety Officer

Grid Team Services is a rapidly growing Irish Design/Build Contractor in the Electricity Utility Sector. We have an immediate vacancy for a Professionally qualified Health and Safety officer with minimum 5 years experience preferably in the Utility Construction Sector. Based in mid-Ulster with the main, but non‑exclusive, activity concentrated on a new 5‑year Principal Framework contract. Reporting to the Managing Director, among the main duties will be:

• Lead the GTS Site Safety Culture in cooperation with Senior Executives
• Oversee develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines (including RAMS management)
• Full liaison with Client Safety functions
• Assist in preparation and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety including audit programmes
• Execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
• Monitor all training records and targets
• Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle workers compensation claims
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
