We are searching for a highly motivated recently graduated candidate to contribute to GTS growth and help us maintain our position as an innovative authority. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and be committed to development both personally and for the company development, someone who is prepared to go that extra inch to ensure the right delivery.
They will be expected to prepare and present progress updates to appropriate management channels on a regular basis, ensuring the innovation we seek is being achieved. Starting as a Trainee project manager you will be on a fast track to becoming a full project manager, supported in every way by our senior team.
- Build and develop the skills required to become a front line project leader
- Assist Senior Project management in the execution of overhead line projects
- Within 6 months Lead smaller projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation
- To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments
- Analyse project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements
- Coordinate and control resource locations and utilisation
- Negotiate with land owners for access requirements
- Inspection and testing of completed works
- Act as a point of escalation for project teams in dealing with customer issues
- Budget analysis to ensure financial milestones are met
- Establish and maintain quality standards and project methodology across projects and ensure they are communicated and implemented to all project teams
- Ensure company policy and standards are met
- Coordinate and manage safety and quality staff
- Undertake all necessary actions as directed by the project Manager and support to facilitate achievement of the delivery of project/s targets in terms of time [programme], cost and quality
- Materials inventory and stock control
- Educated to degree level in technical or management, preference given to Civil engineering
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Understand Value
- Strong organisational ability with strong experience in MS Office (especially excel) & Project or similar project tools
- Willing to travel
- Formal safety qualification, Managing Safely or similar
- Commercially focused and maintain a profitable P+L
- Focused on ensuring delivery right first time
- Able to understand and meet client expectations in line with projects scope
- Self-starter who can operate effectively in a dynamic and fast paced organization
- Able to build and maintain good relationships with clients and key project stakeholders
- Solutions focused and process orientated
