Estimating Assistant

Job Title: Estimating Assistant Maternity Cover
Reporting To: Estimating Manager
Purpose: Assisting the Estimating Team with compiling cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess material, labour, and plant requirements.
• Prepare correspondence to various parties for obtaining estimates.
• Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain package estimates.
• Review and assess tenders, ensuring all tender documents are received and correct.
• Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
• Plan and organise work efficiently to meet project deadlines.
• Work in accordance with company Integrated Management System standards.
• Prepare relevant reports.
• Update information as required.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training.
• Represent and implement an excellent Public Relations and professional image of HBL to clients, design teams, the general public, and within HBL.
• Undertake other tasks as and when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Job Title: Estimating Assistant Maternity Cover

Criteria Essential:

• Good educational attainment, including minimum GCSE/equivalent in Mathematics & English.
• At least one year of employment gained in accounts or a construction role.
• Excellent IT skills and working experience on a range of IT packages.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines.

Desirable:

• Minimum HND qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or another construction-related discipline.
