Your new roleAs a Structural Civil Design Engineer, you will join a well‑established technical team responsible for the design and development of precast concrete solutions. You will play a key role in delivering design outputs for a wide range of infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client specifications.
- Designed fibre‑reinforced precast concrete elements and assessed structural performance.
- Supported research projects, grant applications, manufacturing, and structural testing.
- Conducted concrete testing, analysed fibre effects on strength and cracking, and reported findings.
- Specified testing equipment to improve data collection and monitoring.
- Developed Finite Element Models for non‑linear analysis of fibre‑reinforced concrete.
- Automated structural calculations to improve design efficiency and reduce costs.
- Created C#/.NET and VBA tools to automate CAD and Finite Element model generation.
To be successful for this role, the candidate must have:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Understanding of structural analysis software such as LUSAS, ANSYS or similar
- Experience of CAD packages such as Tekla Structures, AutoCAD and Revit
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience designing concrete structures
- Previous experience designing and testing fibre reinforced concrete structures
- Understanding of reinforced concrete design standards and theory
- Methodical approach to solving challenging engineering problems
- Highly motivated with the ability to work using own initiative
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Possess a full UK driving licence
