Process Engineers Level 2 – R

Northrop Grumman is looking for experienced Process Engineers to support our Process Engineering team located in Promontory, Clearfield, and Bacchus (Magna), Utah. You will join the Ammonium Perchlorate (AP), Case, Case Prep, Mix/Cast, Motor Assembly, Nozzle, or Rocket Value Streams.

Role Description & Responsibilities
  • Developing and improving manufacturing processes for energetic products.
  • Performing cause and corrective action activities to permanently eliminate defects.
  • Working with the concurrent engineering team to create Build‑to‑Packages (engineering and planning documents).
  • Authoring, updating, and reviewing shop‑floor planning.
  • Preparing and presenting technical presentations to VSET, leadership, and customers for review and approval.
  • Performing table‑top reviews.
  • Using SPC tools to ensure process control.
  • Developing and incorporating process improvements.
  • Troubleshooting production, tooling, and facility issues and implementing improvements and solutions.
  • Supporting design, checkout, qualification, and implementation of new or modified tooling or equipment.

Schedule

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80, allowing employees who work a nine‑hour day Monday‑Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in STEM (Chemical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or other technical degrees) with 2 years of experience, or 0 years of experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of Process Controls (SPC).
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
  • Interpreting blueprints and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing shop planning.
  • Experience working with energetic materials and processes.
Compensation

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 – $. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus may also be available. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and share in company results.
