As an Electronic Technician – Level 2 or Level 3 located in Magna, UT, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician with expertise in performing disassembly, repair, and reassembly of customer end item equipment following work instructions. Primary support is of the MMIII Safe and Arm devices refurbishment and Electronic Test Equipment sustainment. Additional responsibilities include working with engineering to ensure clear work instructions for the assembly and manufacturing of Electronic Test Equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced soldering and wire harness fabrication skills, experience with PWA cleaning and conformal coating techniques, and the ability to inspect and ensure compliance with requirements.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manufacturing electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies, including circuit cards, cable harnesses, and various other electronic products while ensuring compliance with required performance specifications.
Perform soldering on through-hole and surface-mount components using soldering irons, reflow equipment such as hot air stations for small PCB components.
Functional testing of electronic assemblies.
Maintain compliance with safety regulations and ESD/FOD/control protocols (use of ESD wrist straps and ESD smock).
Monitor stock levels of required equipment and initiate replacement orders.
Perform moderate strenuous tasks like bending, stooping, lifting tools (up to 50 lbs.).

Basic Qualifications for Level 2High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
Experience performing soldering on through-hole and surface-mount components using soldering irons and reflow equipment.
Ability to repair damaged circuits, lands, or pads.
Experience disassembling, pin, and de-pin connectors (38999 D-Sub, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Experience assembling electrical and electronic cable harnesses, connectors, and wire assemblies using hand tools, soldering irons, and crimping equipment.
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
Experience performing soldering on through-hole and surface-mount components using soldering irons and reflow equipment.
Ability to repair damaged circuits, lands, or pads.
Experience disassembling, pin, and de-pin connectors (38999 D-Sub, etc.)
