Senior Software Engineer; TypeScript

Magna is building software infrastructure for the largest and most innovative networks/protocols in the web3 space and is relied upon by top protocols. Our flagship product is “Carta for Web3”, a platform that makes it easy for crypto companies to manage and automate their employee token vesting, investor token unlocks, and community claim portals. This year alone, we’ve grown our platform to over $20 billion of tokens managed, hundreds of client projects, and millions of users.

We’re a team of 18 in NYC & Europe backed by Y-Combinator, Tiger Global, and the biggest names in the space (Tusk Ventures, Circle, Galaxy Digital, Solana Ventures, Polygon Ventures, GSR, Tower Research, and many more). Our engineering team comes from top finance and distributed systems companies like Gemini, Morgan Stanley, and Palantir.

Our stack is primarily Type Script (frontend + backend monorepo) and Rust (protocol + systems engineering). We care a lot about code quality and are active contributors to open source.

We’re looking to expand our product suite (React + Postgre

SQL) in line with the demand we’re seeing from customers. We’re a B2B platform building in a frontier space that often involves us thinking creatively on the best way to balance UX, security, and performance. Shipping new features, architecting new high performance solutions (our platform is designed to help customers operate at scale), and interacting with our product/design team are all in scope for this role.

Some example project areas we’ve taken on are:

Performance: Aggregating across multi-chain data sources to build a cache for historical blockchain transactions and price data.

Features: Implementing transaction flows for customers managing financial operations at scale (e.g. managing 200K+ asset distributions through the self-serve product).

Architecture: Migrating internal systems & libraries to an event-based architecture for readability + developer experience.

User

Experience:

Designing consumer-oriented interactions for end-user portfolio management (e.g. fun animations on claiming).

Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in fast paced teams (that experienced growth of product usage & team size)

A love for clean and performant code (always sweating the details)

Experience driving large technical initiatives with timelines and multiple developers

Voracious learner and low ego (always learning and leveling up)

Familiarity with our tech stack (Type Script, Postgres, Prisma, Graph

QL)
