• Prepare all food according to the menu in a safe, sanitary manner under the direction of the food services director.
• Ensure proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods according to standardized recipes.
• Prepare quality food products according to standardized recipes and menus.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards.
• Prepare food in a timely manner at specified meal times.
• Respond to community issues or concerns in the dining room.
• Follow departmental procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules.
• Properly clean and store all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Label and date all food in refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage.
• Manage food handling to prevent contamination, increase quality, and reduce costs.
• Suggest menu or recipe changes to utilize leftovers and supplies.
• Clean all food service equipment, kitchen, and storage areas.

• Proven experience as a Cook.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Skilled in preparing meals according to instructions.
• Apt in operating cookware, bakeware, and appliances.
• Good communication skills and friendly demeanor.
• Good physical condition and stamina.
• High school diploma or equivalent; food services certification is a plus.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
