The City of Magnolia is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Director to shape the workforce, culture, and leadership practices that support a growing community.
The Human Resources Director serves as a key member of the City's executive management team, providing strategic and operational leadership for all human resources functions, payroll, benefits, and risk management. Reporting to the City Manager, this role oversees recruitment, classification and compensation, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, training, compliance, safety and risk management.
The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking, proactive leader passionate about striking a balance between innovation and the responsibilities of a public sector agency. The Human Resource Director will be the lead change agent in transitioning the City from manual to digital processes. The successful candidate will possess experience assessing and implementing new technologies, as well as building programs that increase employee engagement, safety, and retention.
Strong political acumen skills and the ability to communicate complex information to a diverse audience will be an asset in this role. This position also serves as the City's Risk Management and Safety Officer.
This recruitment will remain open until filled, with the first application review scheduled for January 15, 2026. Candidates identified as the best fit for the role will participate in a phone interview with CPS HR Consulting the week of January 19, 2026. Panel interviews for finalists will be scheduled for the week of February 1, 2026.
