Principal Engineer, Software Engineering

Location: Mahwah, NJ

Salary: $50.00 USD Hourly - $55.00 USD Hourly

Description: Our client is currently seeking a Principal Engineer, Software Engineering for a 3 month + contract. The position title is UX/UI Designer.

• In your role, you will work with a lead designer to execute User Interface Design activities for mobile and web applications.
• Must be familiar with utilizing design systems and have experience working in cross functional teams including portfolio marketing and software developers.

• Fundamental knowledge and understanding of UX/UI design practices and tools, and design principles.
• Basic knowledge of design and concept generation.
• Basic knowledge of Figma prototyping.
• Basic knowledge of software development process and tools.

• Understanding of design thinking framework and methods.
• Strong competence with design and prototyping with Figma.
• Competence in oral, written, and visual communication skills.
• Experience in design research and user testing.
• Experience in the medical field is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of experience.
• Although this is a software engineering job category, this is not an engineering position. A UX/UI designer is sometimes called an Interaction Designer (Ixd).
