Ramapo College of New Jersey (RCNJ) develops ethical leaders who serve as change agents across all sectors. The college is a New Jersey public liberal arts institution with approximately 5,500 students and an average student/faculty ratio of 16:1. It offers a range of bachelor’s and master’s programs and is known for its strong commitment to student‑centered learning and community engagement.

Under the direction of the AVP Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs, you will develop and implement educational programs using the Mobile Food Laboratory (MFL). You will conduct hands‑on learning experiences for K‑12 students at participating schools, the Meadowlands Environment Center, and visiting community groups. The position is part‑time with flexible hours.

• Implement educational programs that enhance lesson plans aligned with State and NGSS standards using the MFL.
• Facilitate teacher‑training workshops and develop traveling programs for schools, nursing homes, libraries, and hospitals.
• Respond to public inquiries, maintain cooperative relationships with MEC staff and related partners, and consult with supervisors to report progress and resolve issues.
• Wear designated uniform shirts during program presentations.
• Assist in the production of literature for program use and conduct research to develop new programs for school groups and the general public.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority).
• Substitution of required education with experience (30 credit hours considered one year of college).

• One year of professional experience related to the functions of the position (or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority).

• Knowledge of STEAM topics related to healthy eating and food science.
• Familiarity with NGSS and State Content Standards.
• Innovative teaching techniques and ability to conduct classes outdoors under varied conditions.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of current educational technology.
• Ability to travel to various facilities and present programs.
• Research and develop new programs for school groups and the general public.
