This role exists to help tell those stories clearly, creatively and consistently — through video, social media and the press.
We are looking to recruit a
Communications, Brand & Social Media Manager to take ownership of Dawsons’ external communications. Based at our Berkshire office and saleroom, this is a
senior, hands-on role for someone who combines strong creative execution with PR instinct and brand awareness.
A
major focus of this role will be the development and growth of Dawsons’ You Tube channel
. You will be responsible for filming, editing and publishing video content end-to-end, using long-form and short-form video to build authority, trust and engagement with key audiences — particularly people looking to sell.

This role plays a key part in supporting the Head of Marketing by ensuring Dawsons’ brand is communicated clearly, confidently and consistently across all external channels. Through high-quality content, media coverage and expert-led video, you will help translate specialist knowledge into accessible stories that build trust, recognition and enquiries.
Video — particularly long-form content on You Tube — is increasingly important in high-value categories such as art, jewellery and collectibles. Your work will help position Dawsons’ specialist valuers as approachable authorities and give potential sellers the confidence to take the next step.

social media, You Tube and PR in-house within a fast-moving auction environment. Based at our Berkshire saleroom, you will have direct access to expert valuers, objects, and live auctions — giving you constant opportunities to capture content, spot stories and create meaningful communications.
The work you produce will reach private sellers, collectors, solicitors, executors and enthusiasts across the UK and beyond.
What you will do
This role combines strategy with delivery. You will be responsible for planning, creating, editing and publishing content, as well as managing day-to-day communications activity.
You Tube Strategy, Production & Channel Management- Owning the end-to-end delivery of Dawsons Auctioneers’ You Tube channel
- Planning, filming, editing and publishing long-form video content that showcases expertise, standout consignments and the auction and selling process
- Creating short form edits for You Tube Shorts and other social platforms
- Writing titles, descriptions and thumbnails to maximise engagement and discoverability
- Monitoring performance and refining content based on audience behaviour and results
- Ensuring You Tube is positioned as a core brand- and trust-building channel
- Planning, creating, editing and publishing content across Dawsons’ priority social media platforms
- Managing content calendars and day-to-day posting
- Producing short-form video, reels, stories and graphics from original footage and auction activity
- Ensuring social content supports brand positioning, lead generation and consignment-focused campaigns
- Writing and distributing press releases and media materials
- Proactively pitching stories and responding to media enquiries
