Pay: £101.40 per day
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:45pm (term time only)
Training: Full education, training, and CPD provided
Are you an aspiring Psychologist looking to gain practical experience in a specialist school setting, supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex behavioural, emotional, and communication needs?
This Learning Support Assistant role in a specialist autism school in Maidenhead provides hands‑on exposure to psychological approaches to learning, emotional wellbeing, and behavioural support

Gain practical experience that aligns with the core skills needed for educational and child psychology:
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups using structured and creative interventions
- Assisting with behavioural monitoring, emotional regulation, and cognitive engagement
- Observing and recording pupil responses to inform psychological strategies
- Using structured, visual, and sensory‑informed approaches to reduce anxiety and promote engagement
- Working alongside teachers, psychologists, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and achieve personal development goals
This experience provides a strong foundation for postgraduate study in Educational Psychology, Child Psychology, or Clinical Psychology
