A supportive and inclusive primary school in Maidenhead is seeking a Challenging Behaviour Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural support, helping them to feel secure, understood, and ready to learn.
In this role, you will support children who may display challenging behaviours linked to social, emotional, or additional needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop positive coping strategies, improve their engagement, and build confidence within the classroom.
As a Challenging Behaviour Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
- Help pupils manage emotions and respond positively to challenges
- Use de-escalation techniques and consistent behaviour strategies
- Support the class teacher in maintaining a calm and structured environment
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Work closely with SEN staff to ensure consistent support approaches
This role is ideal for graduates looking to gain practical experience before pursuing careers in education, psychology, or youth work, as well as experienced candidates seeking a rewarding support role.
