The role will involve:

  • Encouraging a love of reading, creativity and critical thinking through literature and language
  • Supporting students to achieve excellent academic outcomes through effective teaching and assessment
  • Contributing to a supportive and collaborative English department
  • Taking part in the wider life of the school, including enrichment, reading initiatives and co-curricular opportunities

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about English and enjoys inspiring young people through literature and language
  • Builds positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • Has high expectations and a calm, consistent classroom presence
  • Is committed to developing as a teacher and embracing professional development
  • Is keen to contribute to a welcoming and inclusive school community beyond the classroom

In return, the school offers a supportive and ambitious environment, motivated pupils, excellent resources, and a strong focus on staff wellbeing and career development.
