As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will play a leading role in delivering complex defence and cyber programmes, ensuring robust systems engineering practices are applied across the full lifecycle.

• Lead systems engineering activities across major work packages, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification
• Support Engineering Project Leads in delivering technical outcomes aligned to programme plans
• Define and develop high-quality technical solutions to complex engineering challenges
• Ensure stakeholder and system requirements are fully captured, validated, and realised
• Produce and maintain key systems engineering artefacts across the product lifecycle
• Contribute to design assurance, technical reviews, and compliance with customer and regulatory expectations
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to systems engineering teams

Were looking for a strong Systems engineer OR IVVQ Engineer,

• Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or relevant Defence/Aerospace experience
• Strong background in Systems Engineering and lifecycle development (V-model and related methodologies)
• Proven experience delivering high-quality requirements and compliant system designs
• Demonstrable application of ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 or equivalent standards
• Experience leading or mentoring systems engineering teams
• Strong technical documentation and formal review experience
• Working knowledge of DOORS, UML, SysML, and Enterprise Architect
• Background in hardware, software, or firmware development (ideally embedded systems)
• INCOSE certification (ASEP / CSEP)
• Experience as a technical SME in complex engineering environments
• Familiarity with NCSC security standards and associated security artefacts
