What are we looking for?

Malloy Aeronautics is looking for a PCB Test Engineer to join our Electronics Manufacturing team. We are seeking a detail-oriented engineer or technician with experience in PCB and electronic assembly testing who enjoys hands‑on work and takes pride in delivering high‑quality products. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK

What you’ll being doing (but not limited too):

Test printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies for installation in our unmanned aerial vehicles.

Perform functional and diagnostic testing against defined specifications and acceptance criteria.

Identify, investigate and report test failures, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Carry out component and assembly testing in accordance with quality assurance procedures.

Inspect assemblies for defects, including component placement, orientation and workmanship issues.

Use hand tools, test equipment and measuring devices safely and effectively.

Maintain accurate test records and support continuous improvement activities.

Assist with training and supporting other team members as required..

Previous experience testing PCBs and electronic assemblies.

Ability to interpret and follow test procedures and work instructions.

Understanding of electronic components and PCB assembly processes.

Ability to identify and correct component placement and orientation issues.

Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Good problem‑solving and fault‑finding skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Desired Skills and Experiences

Previous experience as a Test Engineer, Electronics Technician or similar role.

Experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies.

Knowledge of IPC standards and electronic manufacturing processes.

Experience supporting root cause investigations and process improvements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Good awareness of Health & Safety requirements within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Experience working within a regulated or high‑reliability industry such as aerospace, defence or automotive.
