Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join us on a permanent basis via the Robert Walters Consultancy. Your first assignment will be at Anglo American, in Maidenhead. This role supports manufacturing excellence by improving processes, managing change, and strengthening quality control. It works cross-functionally to enhance production efficiency, equipment reliability, and overall operational performance.

• Respond to short- and long-term issues impacting Quality, Delivery, and Cost, managing problem reports and change processes.
• Represent the department in design reviews and Change Control Boards (CCB).
• Oversee servicing, repairs, and calibration of workshop equipment.
• Lead or support outsourcing and work transfer projects.
• Identify and justify jigs, fixtures, and tools to improve assembly and test efficiency.
• Support quality assurance across Supply Chain, Production, and Technical Support.
• Drive quality control to isolate non-conforming materials and implement corrective actions.
• Establish and maintain commissioning, testing, and calibration tool baselines.
• Lead process improvement and continuous initiatives, applying best practices in production and testing.
• Implement and report on KPIs across the production value chain.
• Deliver Business Excellence, Continuous Improvement, and SHE training ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and company policies.

• Degree (or equivalent) in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Production Engineering
• Minimum 5 years in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and proven experience leading Continuous Improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
• Experience in low-volume, high-complexity production environments and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
