Deputy Security Controller

Location:

Cyber Centre of Excellence, Maidenhead, UK.

The role is based in Maidenhead with occasional responsibilities for other I&C UK offices, requiring infrequent travel.

• Flexibility to travel within the UK and a full driving licence.
• Ability and desire to obtain and maintain SC Security clearance, preferably DV clearance.
• Working knowledge of Gov Stan 007 and security policy framework is desirable.
• Capability to interpret the requirements of the Security and Personnel Controllers.
• Understanding of the risks and impact to the business of failing to comply fully with appropriate guidelines, policy, or legislation.

• Assist the Security Controller with administration and management of guards, keys, locks, CCTV, IDS, building security routines, and disposal of assets.

• Assist the Personnel Security Controller with final BPSS checks, approving area access, processing visitor and IVCO requests.

• Organise regular combination changes, document checks, mustering, training, asset booking, transport plans, and liaise with the authority.

• Log SALs and administer supply‑chain checks and contracts.

• Handle breaches, electronic security incidents, SAL, personnel, TCSM, CTSA liaison, asset loss, criminal activity, and report and investigate incidents.

• Ensure all access to sensitive assets is recorded and controlled to meet the need‑to‑know principle.
• Maintain the after‑care process for employees’ security clearance obligations.
• Represent the business at off‑site briefings, meetings and training sessions as required.
• Reflect security requirements in the company’s processes where appropriate.
• Perform any other duties as and when required.
• Manage information security in line with the Security Manual.

• British citizenship (required to handle Eyes‑Only material).
• Capability to achieve SC clearance as a minimum (preferably DV).
• Experience with CCTV is beneficial.
• Good standard of verbal and written English expected, no specific degree required.

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for the role. British citizens who have lived in the UK for the past 5 years are eligible for SC clearance and 10 years for DV clearance.
