An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented administrator to join Kent Police's Estate & Facilities Services team on a temporary and part-time basis. We are looking for an experienced Administrative Officer with strong data management, reporting and process improvement skills, who can provide high-quality administrative support while helping to maintain effective governance and compliance across the department.

This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys working with data, developing efficient processes, using Microsoft Excel to analyse and report information, and identifying opportunities to improve administrative systems through automation tools such as Microsoft Power Automate.

The main duties will include:

  • Supporting the Compliance & Governance Manager with data management, reporting and performance monitoring across a range of departmental activities, including compliance tracking and assurance processes.
  • Maintaining and developing departmental databases, dashboards, spreadsheets and document libraries, ensuring accurate records and clear audit trails.
  • Using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications to analyse data, produce reports and support informed decision-making.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline and automate administrative processes through tools such as Microsoft Power Automate and other digital solutions.
  • Managing contractor access arrangements and shared mailboxes, ensuring enquiries are handled efficiently and records are maintained accurately.
  • Reviewing and updating policies, procedures and guidance documents to ensure information remains current and accessible.
  • Supporting the maintenance of departmental risk registers, action logs and governance records.
  • Delivering proactive, professional and customer-focused administrative support to the wider Estates & Facilities Services team.
  • Supporting internal communications, including intranet updates, information sharing and responding to enquiries from colleagues across the Force.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Advanced competence and confidence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including data analysis, reporting and formula-based spreadsheets.
  • Experience of using, or a willingness to learn, Microsoft Power Automate and other digital tools to improve efficiency and automate routine processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with large volumes of data accurately.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive approach, taking ownership of tasks and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
  • An understanding of governance, compliance, audit or risk management principles would be desirable but is not essential.
  • Awareness of basic Health & Safety principles.

The role requires weekly office attendance in Maidstone; however the working days remain flexible to discussion upon appointment.

Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £32,841.00.
