Job Title : Registered Manager – Children’s Home

Location : Maidstone

Salary : £60,000 per annum (Once Ofsted Registered)

Hours : Full‑time (40 hours per week, including some evenings / weekends as required)

Start Date : Upon successful Ofsted registration of the homes

Reports to : Responsible Individual / Director

We are looking for a committed and experienced Registered Manager to oversee the launch and ongoing operation of our new Ofsted‑registered Children’s Homes in Maidstone. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing organisation from the beginning, shaping high‑quality residential care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

The successful candidate will play a key role in securing Ofsted registration and will lead the homes to deliver outstanding care, support, and positive outcomes for children.

• Lead the registration process with Ofsted and ensure the homes are fully compliant with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership and management of the homes, creating a nurturing and safe environment for young people.
• Develop and maintain individualised care plans, ensuring that each child’s needs, rights, and dignity are prioritised.
• Oversee safeguarding procedures and ensure all staff are fully trained and compliant.
• Recruit, train, and manage a high‑performing team, fostering a positive and supportive working culture.
• Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including local authorities, social workers, schools, and healthcare providers.
• Maintain robust systems for monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality of care.
• Manage budgets, rotas, risk assessments, and operational policies to ensure the efficient running of the homes.
• Ensure the homes achieve and maintain a minimum Ofsted rating of “Good” or “Outstanding.”

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a residential childcare setting within the past 5 years.
• Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or management role within a children’s home.
• Sound knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
• Ability to be registered with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
