Our client has a strong pipeline of development work across the South East and is looking to appoint a Senior Planner in Maidstone. The role offers direct exposure to developers, landowners and multidisciplinary project teams.

The team’s workload covers greenfield housing, redevelopment opportunities, employment sites and strategic land promotion. You will not be restricted to one narrow stage of the planning process; the intention is for you to see instructions through and understand the commercial decisions behind them.

• Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.
• Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs.
• Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.
• Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.
• Support larger instructions while steadily increasing your own project responsibility.

Mrtpi preferred; strong planning submissions; commercial understanding and constructive negotiation skills. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long‑term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.

The salary is £40,000–£50,000. The wider package includes hybrid working, pension, bonus, paid fees and progression based on contribution. Exact arrangements will depend on experience and will be discussed openly during the process.
