Part Time Qualified English Teacher

As a Secondary English Teacher working with Tailor

EDucation, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality English lessons within a secondary school in the Maidstone area.

This is a part-time long-term supply position, working three days a week and starting ASAP.

You will be responsible for full teaching duties (including planning and marking), delivering engaging and well-structured English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, challenge students to achieve their full potential, and support pupils in developing strong literacy, analytical and communication skills.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons

• Marking and assessing student work in line with school policy

• Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all students

• Preparing students for assessments and examinations

• Creating a positive and productive classroom environment

• Monitoring and reporting on student progress

• Upholding school policies and safeguarding procedures

Strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management, and a commitment to high standards are essential for success in this role.

This role is based within a supportive and inclusive secondary school in the Maidstone area. The school is committed to high standards of teaching and learning and provides a positive environment where staff are valued and students are encouraged to achieve both academically and personally.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English (essential)

• Proven experience teaching English within a UK secondary school setting

• Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum

• Experience planning and marking in line with UK school standards

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

• The ability to commit to a part-time timetable (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

• Immediate availability

• Fully cleared and compliant status in line with safeguarding requirements
