Part-Time Freelance Hybrid Tutor / Assessor – CAVA, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, SEN, Teaching, Coaching and IQA
We are seeking a qualified and experienced part‑time freelance hybrid tutor to support the delivery, assessment and quality assurance of vocational education programmes. The role is suitable for a professional with strong teaching, coaching, assessment and internal quality assurance experience, particularly across CAVA, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, SEN in Education, Inclusion and SEN practice, and assessment quality assurance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging online and/or hybrid teaching sessions, supporting learners to understand key concepts, assessing learner work, providing constructive feedback, preparing learning materials, and contributing to the quality assurance of assessment decisions. The role requires a learner‑centred approach, excellent communication skills, strong knowledge of inclusive education, and the ability to support learners with different needs and backgrounds.
Requiredqualifications and experience may include:
- CAVA or equivalent assessor qualification.
- Level 4 Certificate in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
- SEN in Education / Inclusion and SEN in Education qualification or relevant experience.
- Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices qualification.
- Diploma in Teaching and Coaching, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching adult learners, apprentices or vocational learners.
- Experience assessing learner portfolios and providing written developmental feedback.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion and reasonable adjustments.
- Ability to work independently as a freelancer while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
The role is part‑time, freelance and hybrid. The expected workload is 10 hours per week, including approximately 4 hours of teaching, 3 hours of marking and learner feedback, and 3 hours of preparation, resource development, learner support and quality‑related activities.
Key responsibilities:- Deliver high‑quality teaching sessions in line with the curriculum and awarding body requirements.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching resources, learner activities and assessment guidance.
- Assess learner work against relevant criteria and provide clear written feedback.
- Support learners with SEN, inclusion needs and reasonable adjustments.
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion and professional practice throughout delivery.
- Maintain accurate learner records, assessment decisions and feedback logs.
- Support internal quality assurance processes where required.
- Attend occasional standardisation, team or quality meetings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of teaching materials and learner experience.
- Collaborate with awarding bodies (e.g. OTHM)
The ideal candidate will be professional, reliable, organised and confident in supporting adult learners. They should be able to explain complex concepts clearly, provide practical examples, and maintain high standards of assessment and feedback. They must also be comfortable working in a flexible hybrid environment and meeting agreed deadlines for marking, preparation and learner support.
