We are offering an exciting opportunity for a teacher P.E. and Sport to join the team in contributing to and delivering an outstanding curriculum at the UK’s first secure school. We are looking for people with experience of teaching or a career in trade looking to make a transition into teaching and make a difference to the lives of children in custody.

Whilst the role is advertised as full‑time, flexible working requests such as part‑time may be considered, subject to operating requirements. The full‑time pattern is Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

As a founding teacher, you will play a key role in designing and delivering a curriculum that provides a nurturing, therapeutic, and educational community that embeds hope, stability, and opportunity for children in our care.

As a PE and sport teacher, you will deliver outstanding teaching that develops curious and dedicated learners, meets their individual needs, and improves their physical and mental health. You will also be able to teach a second subject area, developing your own practice to deliver consistently outstanding teaching. You will launch and continuously contribute to a creative curriculum underpinned by progressive pedagogies, aligned with the national curriculum and a variety of formal qualifications.

You will work with class sizes of five children, with two additional staff to tailor learning support to each student, in a specially designed education building with brand new technology and software.

• Experience working successfully with people who have multiple and complex needs.
• Personal experience of the criminal justice system or knowledge of issues such as gangs, knife crime, social exclusion, child criminal exploitation, adverse childhood experiences, and trauma.
• Ability to actively listen and motivate young people.
• Ability to be a positive role model, demonstrating the virtues of a crime‑free life to young people.
