Salary: £93.33+ per day

Are you a reliable, empathetic, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a meaningful full-time role in Maidstone?

Do you have a passion for supporting secondary school students with Special Educational Needs?

GSL Education is looking to recruit committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work full-time within Secondary Resource Provision (SRP) units in local secondary schools. These specialist provisions are designed to provide tailored support for pupils with SEN, autism (ASD), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and speech and language difficulties, helping them access education in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

This school is known for its therapeutic approach and collaborative staff team. The school provides a supportive environment where every SEN Teaching Assistant is valued for their contribution to student independence and confidence.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Support secondary pupils with SEN, SEMH, IHCPs
  • Deliver interventions with small groups of students
  • Support pupils 1:1 with their academic work
  • Behaviour manage within the school and the SRP unit
  • Follow lesson plans and schemes of work providied and led by the teachers
  • Support teachers with lessons, behaviour management and monitoring of pupils
  • Encourage student participation and enthusiasm for learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff
Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Prior experience supporting secondary aged students
  • Prior expereince with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
