Job Title:
Outdoor Education Instructor

Location:
Heath Farm College, Maidstone, ME16 0ER

Hours: 18 hours per week | Monday and Friday
Salary: £11,200 - £13,500 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications(not pro rata)
Contract:
Permanent | Term Time Only

We're looking for an enthusiastic Outdoor Education Instructor to join our dedicated team and deliver engaging outdoor learning experiences that inspire pupils to achieve their full potential.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver engaging outdoor education sessions for individuals and groups, adapting activities to meet pupils' needs and abilities.
  • Support the ongoing development and evaluation of the school's Outdoor Education provision.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to create meaningful cross-curricular outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Help develop medium- and long-term plans to deliver a high-quality and varied outdoor education programme.
  • Maintain outdoor learning equipment and resources, ensuring they are safe, well organised and fit for purpose.
  • Complete risk assessments and ensure all activities are delivered safely and in line with health and safety guidance.
  • Build and maintain positive partnerships with external providers, including climbing centres and water sports organisations.
  • Contribute to team meetings, identifying training needs, resource requirements and opportunities to enhance provision.

What We 19re Looking For

  • Has experience delivering outdoor education, adventurous activities or environmental learning.
  • Is passionate about helping young people build confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Can motivate, engage and inspire pupils with a wide range of abilities and needs.
  • Is organised, proactive and committed to maintaining high standards of safety.
  • Holds relevant outdoor qualifications (or is willing to work towards them).
  • Full UK driving licence required
