As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering electrical building services designs across a wide range of sectors including education, commercial, residential and public sector projects.The roleThe Associate Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading electrical design delivery from concept through to completion. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, architects, project managers and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated and compliant designs.
You will also support project delivery by providing technical guidance, reviewing designs, attending meetings and assisting with mentoring junior engineers within the team.Key responsibilities
- Lead electrical building services design across multiple projects
- Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports and drawings
- Ensure designs comply with current UK regulations and industry standards
- Coordinate with other design disciplines to deliver fully integrated solutions
- Liaise with clients, contractors and project teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Attend site visits, surveys and design team meetings
- Support sustainable and low carbon design strategies
- Assist with project planning, programme input and fee delivery
You will bring:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Experience delivering electrical designs on complex building projects
- Working knowledge of BS standards, CIBSE guidance and Wiring Regulations
- Chartered status or actively working towards it
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients
- A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor junior team members
