The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Electrical Engineer to join the production team of a specialist engineering business delivering innovative wastewater treatment and pumping solutions across the UK.
Based at the company's production facility in Maidstone, you will play a key role in building and assembling equipment before it is delivered to customer sites. This is a hands-on workshop-based role where you will work alongside experienced mechanical and electrical engineers, supporting the build of high-quality systems used throughout the water industry.
You'll report directly to the Project Engineer - Production, who will provide day-to-day guidance and support, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with practical electrical experience looking to develop their skills further.
The Role
Working within the production team, you'll assist with the mechanical and electrical assembly of specialist equipment, ensuring systems are built to a high standard before installation on customer sites.
This role would suit someone with electrical experience or qualifications who enjoys practical workshop-based work and is keen to broaden their knowledge across both electrical and mechanical engineering.
Key Responsibilities
· Assemble and build specialist equipment ready for installation on customer sites.
· Carry out electrical wiring, assembly and installation of components.
· Assist with mechanical assembly and fitting of equipment.
· Work alongside the Production Mechanical Engineer to deliver complete system builds.
· Support testing, fault-finding and quality checks on completed equipment.
· Read and follow electrical drawings and build instructions.
· Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
· Ensure all work is completed to company quality and health & safety standards.
· Work under the direction of the Project Engineer - Production to meet production schedules.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
· Some electrical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent) or practical electrical experience.
· A willingness to work across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
· Good practical skills with a hands-on approach to engineering.
· The ability to work well within a team and follow technical instructions.
· A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
· Full UK driving licence (preferred).
· The ability to travel independently to Unit A1, LOC8 Business Park, Ashford Road, ME17 1WR
.
Desirable:
· Experience with in manufacturing, production or workshop environments.
· Experience building electrical or mechanical equipment.
· Knowledge of pumps, control panels or water industry equipment.
· Ability to read electrical schematics or wiring diagrams.
