Are you an early‑career engineer passionate about geotechnical engineering? Aspiring to become a chartered geologist (CGeol) or chartered civil engineer (CEng)?
The role involves hands‑on experience with site supervision, laboratory testing, and geotechnical analysis.
Responsibilities- Monitor and supervise fieldwork including ground investigations, landfill engineering, and earthworks.
- Collect soil samples for geotechnical testing.
- Carry out in‑situ geotechnical testing.
- Log geotechnical data.
- Schedule geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Prepare factual reports.
- Prepare health and safety plans and risk assessments.
- Travel to sites (full UK driving licence required).
- Educational background:
Civil Engineering, Geology, Geological Hazards, Geotechnical Engineering, or a relevant MSc. - Technical skills:
Understanding of UK ground investigation techniques, specifications, and standards. - Leadership:
Comfortable supervising and instructing others to carry out fieldwork tasks safely (full H&S training will be provided). - Professional membership:
Graduate level membership of a relevant body (or eligibility). - Experience:
Demonstrable experience in Earth Sciences or Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous. - Valid UK driving licence (required for site travel).
