Overview
Join Our Growing Geotechnical Team! Are you an early-career engineer passionate about geotechnical engineering? Are you aspiring to become a chartered geologist (CGeol) or chartered civil engineer (CEng)?
Responsibilities- Hands-On
Experience:
Work closely with senior colleagues on site supervision, laboratory testing, and geotechnical analysis. - Diverse Projects:
Gain exposure across multiple geoscience disciplines. - UK and Overseas Opportunities:
Supervise projects locally and abroad. - Monitoring and supervision of fieldwork including ground investigations, landfill engineering, and earthworks.
- Collecting soil samples for geotechnical testing.
- Carrying out in-situ geotechnical testing.
- Geotechnical data logging.
- Scheduling geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Preparing factual reports.
- Preparing health and safety plans and risk assessments.
- Note:
A full driving licence valid in the UK is essential due to site travel requirements.
- Educational Background:
Civil Engineering, Geology, Geological Hazards, Geotechnical Engineering, or relevant MSc. - Technical
Skills:
Understand UK ground investigation techniques, specifications, and standards. - Leadership:
Comfortable supervising and instructing others to carry out fieldwork tasks efficiently and safely (full H&S training will be provided). - Professional Membership:
Graduate level membership of a relevant body (or eligibility). - Experience:
Demonstrable experience in Earth Sciences or Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
