Generator Controls Engineer

• Take total responsibility for implementing successful projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to customer specifications and expectations.
• Develop and create project-specific engineering documentation.
• Deliver projects in accordance with contractual technical requirements.
• Commission control systems and conduct performance testing, factory acceptance testing, and site acceptance testing when required.
• Design, develop, and implement control systems for generator, power distribution, and fuel delivery applications.
• Read and interpret LV and HV electrical schematics for system integration and fault diagnostics.
• Configure and troubleshoot Com Ap generator controllers, including synchronization, load sharing, and remote monitoring features.
• Collaborate with electrical design engineers, site engineers, and commissioning teams to deliver integrated control solutions.
• Support site commissioning and FAT/SAT testing of control panels and generator systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, including I/O lists, control philosophies, and test protocols.

• Strong understanding of LV and HV schematics, switch gear control, and protection systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Com Ap generator controllers (Inteli Gen, Inteli Sys, etc.).
• Knowledge of G99 / G59 grid protection and interface requirements.
• Familiarity with generator paralleling, islanded and grid-connected operation.
• Working knowledge of electrical safety standards, including BS 7671 and IEC standards.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for commissioning and support activities.

Demonstrates expertise in designing, developing, and implementing control systems for generator and power distribution applications, with a strong focus on project management, technical documentation, and compliance with electrical safety standards.
