We are seeking a Finance Director to join our clients Senior Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is pivotal in driving financial performance, business growth and operational excellence across our clients multi-site retail/distribution operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, hands-on finance professional with a proven track record in scaling operations and supporting strategic growth initiatives.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

• Strategic Finance Leadership: Partner with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to develop and execute financial strategies that support profitable growth. Provide insights on site performance, market expansion, and pricing strategies.
• Multi-Site Operations & Performance Management: Oversee financial performance across 70+ locations, focusing on site profitability and efficiency. Implement standardised reporting and KPIs for performance comparison and improvement.
• Inventory & Supply Chain Finance: Develop inventory management strategies that balance availability, cash flow and risk. Implement robust stock valuation and provisioning procedures.
• Business Partnership & Commercial Insight: Act as a strategic business partner to operations, purchasing and sales teams. Develop pricing strategies and margin analysis to maintain competitive advantage.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and develop the finance team, focusing on multi-site reporting and analysis capabilities. Ensure consistent application of financial controls across the network.
• External Stakeholder Management: Present financial results to ownership and board members. Manage relationships with external auditors and banking facilities to support growth financing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with 8+ years post-qualification experience.
• Experience as a Finance Director or Senior Finance Manager in a multi-site retail, distribution or motor factor environment.
• Strong commercial mindset with an understanding of price-sensitive B2B markets.
• Advanced financial analysis skills, focusing on site-level profitability and performance metrics.
• Strong systems integration experience, particularly with ERP implementations and multi-site reporting platforms.
• Proven leadership capabilities, able to operate independently and manage diverse teams across distributed operations.
