Personal Care Assistant

Hours: Variable hours of work up to 35 hours per week, between Monday and Sunday, between the hours of 8:00 am and 10:00 pm, with a minimum shift of 3 hours and a maximum shift of 7 hours.

Wage: £16.54 per hour (Employed).

Location: Maidstone.

Duration: Permanent.

DBS: Post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which is covered by the employer.

I am looking for a reliable, caring and respectful Personal Care Assistant to support my disabled adult son with his personal care needs, daily routines and social activities. The role involves working flexibly across the week, including weekends, with current support generally needed on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Applicants must have strong communication skills and be willing to travel with us across the county when required.

Manual handling is an essential part of the role, as he uses a hoist and sling for all transfers and lifts and he requires full support of two carers. Full training will be provided. Previous care experience, including personal or professional experience, is desirable but not essential. Relevant training or qualifications, such as an NVQ, would also be welcomed. Applicants must be based in the UK, as sponsorship is not available for this post.

I am looking for someone who is patient, self-motivated, attentive, respectful and caring, with the confidence to work discreetly and use their own initiative. A good sense of humour and experience communicating with people with learning, language or autism-related communication needs would be highly desirable.
