KIMS Hospital is the largest independent hospital in Kent, offering outstanding patient care and state-of-the-art facilities. We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Lead Inventory and Stock Control Officer to support the smooth management of Medical Consumables/ Implants alongside other non-clinical products plus devices within Theatres, Cath Labs and other key locations in the Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced stock control or inventory professional to take a lead role in ensuring the hospital maintains accurate stock levels, supports patient safety, and contributes to our Scan for Safety programme.

Reporting to the Inventory and Stores Manager, you will lead and support the Inventory Control Officers in delivering an efficient and accurate stock management and replenishment service across all clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital.

You will play a key role in maintaining the hospital’s perpetual inventory, implementing Scan for Safety, managing consignment stock, coordinating stock returns, and supporting continuous stock-taking processes.

Your work will directly contribute to:

• Ensuring critical products are always available when needed
• Minimising waste and reducing expired stock
• Supporting patient safety through accurate product traceability
• Maintaining robust stock data and reporting

• Manage stock replenishment using GHX Power Gate
• Oversee consignment stock and supplier-managed inventory
• Support implementation and expansion of Scan for Safety
• Coordinate continuous stock takes and cycle counts
• Monitor product expiry dates and arrange supplier replacements
• Conduct stock reviews with budget holders and department leads
• Process deliveries, returns, and loan kits
• Maintain accurate stock records and system data

• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong work ethic and a proactive approach
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
• Commitment to teamwork and customer service

• 2+ years’ experience in inventory, stores, or stock control
• Experience with GHX Power Gate
• Experience with in healthcare, procurement, or finance
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
