Head of Sustainability

Bridge Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for an experienced sustainability professional to join a growing organisation within the construction and housing sector, leading the development and delivery of a group-wide sustainability and ESG strategy.

This strategic role will focus on embedding sustainable practices across the business, supporting the delivery of a net‑carbon housing approach, and ensuring ESG principles are integrated into core decision‑making.

• Develop and implement the organisation’s sustainability and ESG strategy
• Establish clear targets, monitor performance, and report on progress
• Work closely with senior leadership to embed sustainability across operations
• Act as the internal subject matter expert on sustainability and social value
• Support ESG reporting, communications and stakeholder engagement
• Build relationships with external partners including industry bodies, local authorities and policy stakeholders
• Champion sustainability initiatives both internally and externally

• Proven experience delivering sustainability or ESG strategies at organisational level
• Strong understanding of sustainability, ESG and social value frameworks
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Strategic thinker with a hands‑on, delivery‑focused approach
• Passion for sustainability within the built environment or construction sector
• Strong reporting and project management capability

• Based in Kent with regular travel to sites across Kent and Surrey
• Car allowance and private healthcare included
• Full UK driving licence required
• CSCS
• Degree and professional sustainability accreditation advantageous
